Export-ready dangerous goods packaging and custom protective solutions.
Chenjie Pack manufactures UN fibreboard boxes around the contents, inner packaging and specified packing arrangement. Discuss the box structure, protective inserts and relevant China export packaging documents with our team in Shenzhen.
Compare carton, lid-and-base and plywood structures by product fit, internal support and handling access. UN qualification applies to the specified packaging design.
Fibreboard cartons developed around the product or inner containers and the specified packing configuration. Board construction, dimensions, internal protection and printed information are agreed for the individual design.
Lid-and-base corrugated structures for larger cargo. Board build-up, base support and internal fixing are developed around the packing and handling requirements.
A related packaging option for cargo needing a different supporting structure, with project-specific bracing, fixing points and loading access.
Dimensions, board construction, internal supports and closure must describe the same packaging design. Use the options below as a starting point for comparison.
| Construction detail | UN fibreboard boxes | Heavy-duty fibreboard boxes | Custom plywood cases |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main structure | Five-layer reinforced corrugated board | Multi-layer corrugated board with lid-and-base structures | Plywood case with project-specific reinforcement |
| Board options | AB or BE flute; 5 mm or 7 mm options | Custom board build-up; 12–14 mm options | Case panels and supports developed for the cargo |
| Packing access | Carton opening and closure matched to the design | Separate lid and base for the proposed loading arrangement | Case opening and fixing arrangement developed together |
| Main design priority | Product or inner-container fit | Load distribution, base support and stacking | Bracing, centre of gravity and handling access |
Board options are confirmed for the proposed design. They do not establish a shared UN qualification or maximum gross mass across the range.

The certificate covers the specified configuration. Other contents, sizes and designs require their own review.
Chenjie Pack coordinates corrugated box dimensions, structure, printing and internal protection for the proposed packing arrangement. Sample review and the agreed specification provide a common reference for production and relevant packaging documents.
Box dimensions and support positions are developed around the product or inner containers, with clearance and closure reviewed on the proposed pack.
The relevant UN design and packaging document scope are reviewed for the actual contents, construction and shipment.
Testing requirements are discussed with the sample, load and acceptance conditions. A result applies to the evaluated configuration.
Paperboard support detail
An outer box can fit the overall dimensions while individual products or containers still move inside. Chenjie Pack develops paperboard supports and offers shaped EPE and CR foam inserts, including water-cutting support, to match the proposed packing arrangement.
For larger cargo, lid-and-base boxes and plywood cases offer different ways to arrange base support, internal fixing and loading access. The complete structure is reviewed around the load and handling requirements.
Dimensions, materials, inserts and closure details are coordinated with sample review and China export packaging document preparation. The agreed configuration provides a common reference for production and repeat orders.
Box compression, board strength and drop testing address different parts of packaging performance. Evaluation requirements depend on the box structure, contents and intended shipment.

Different products call for different inner packaging and support. These projects combined product-specific packing arrangements with packaging sourcing or documentation coordination.
A trading customer needed packaging support for misting fans with built-in batteries. Chenjie developed internal positioning and cushioning for the product and coordinated the packaging information needed from the source factory.
Illustrative packaging configuration
An alcohol-wipe project used aluminium-pouch inner packaging within double-wall corrugated cartons. Chenjie coordinated packaging sourcing and related documents, working with the carton manufacturer for the order.
Illustrative packaging configuration
A printing-ink project combined metal inner containers, corrugated dividers and a double-wall outer carton. The carton specification and packaging documents were coordinated around this combination-packaging arrangement.
Illustrative packaging configuration
| Project detail | Configuration |
|---|---|
| Project carton size | 465 × 350 × 180 mm |
| Project quantity | 500 cartons |
| Inner arrangement | Metal inner containers with corrugated dividers |
| Outer packaging | Double-wall corrugated carton |
A hydrochloric-acid packaging project combined ten glass inner bottles with a foam enclosure and a double-wall outer carton. Chenjie coordinated the carton specification and packaging documents for the defined arrangement.
Illustrative packaging configuration
| Project detail | Configuration |
|---|---|
| Project carton size | 535 × 228 × 213 mm |
| Project quantity | 2,210 cartons |
| Inner arrangement | Ten glass bottles with a foam enclosure |
| Outer packaging | Double-wall corrugated carton |
These examples describe individual project configurations. For a new shipment, the goods classification, inner-container compatibility, fill quantity, packed gross weight, closure and transport conditions are reviewed together. Acid concentration is also considered where relevant.
Use these answers to compare packaging designs and understand which details must stay aligned when preparing an order.
4G identifies a fibreboard box. For a combination package, the tested configuration and permitted variations determine the inner packagings it can contain. A 4GV design is qualified under special variation provisions, allowing broader inner-packaging flexibility within defined conditions.
The V does not make a box unrestricted. Its qualification and packing instructions still control the allowed configuration. Chenjie Pack’s documented 4G power-pack design should be assessed within its own scope; a requirement for 4GV must be identified separately.
The example below explains selected parts of a UN packaging mark. The marking excerpt 4G/Y30/S/24 is used here to illustrate how the code is read.
| Mark segment | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 4G | Fibreboard box |
| Y | Meets Packing Group II and III performance tests |
| 30 | Maximum gross mass of the complete package in kilograms |
| S | Intended for solids or inner packagings |
| 24 | Year of manufacture: 2024 |
Gross mass includes the packaging and contents. Y-coded packaging can cover Packing Groups II and III where otherwise authorized; it does not assign a packing group to the battery itself. The mark alone does not establish suitability for a particular shipment.
Yes, when the complete combination packaging is qualified for the intended liquid in suitable inner containers. A fibreboard outer box is not itself a liquid container, and an S marking can also refer to packaging containing inner packagings.
Container compatibility, closures, arrangement and the required protective components all matter. For a chemical packaging project, start with the actual bottle, can or other inner-container specification; a general carton size or foam insert does not establish suitability.
Only when the proposed design remains within the qualification and permitted variations. Changing dimensions, board construction, inner containers or protective components may require assessment or further testing.
Chenjie Pack offers custom dimensions, printing and internal supports through our Manufacturing & Customization capabilities. These options are developed around the product and packing arrangement; the qualification scope is reviewed with that design. A larger box does not inherit the rating of a smaller certified example.
No. UN 38.3 testing concerns lithium cell and battery types. Packaging performance testing concerns the transport package. Learn more about our Quality & Packaging Testing. A battery test summary does not establish that a carton meets a required packaging performance level, and a UN-marked box does not replace the battery’s applicable testing and transport requirements.
For battery packaging discussions, identify the battery type and its transport configuration alongside the outer box and internal protection.
Packaging performance inspection and packaging use appraisal are separate procedures. The first concerns the packaging container; the second concerns its use for the dangerous goods being prepared for export.
| Procedure | Main focus |
|---|---|
| Packaging performance inspection | The specified packaging container and its performance inspection result |
| Packaging use appraisal | The actual dangerous goods and packing arrangement, supported by the relevant performance result and other required documents |
Chenjie Pack supports packaging data preparation and process coordination for China exports. The competent authority issues the results. The applicable documents must match the current packaging specification and shipment; one project’s result is not a general approval for another.
